As you can probably tell, after you have clicked through many different pages of this website, that this website is a work in progress. We are happy to report that we have launched this website, and it took a lot of time in terms of preparation, initial content creation, as well as networking, to make sure that all our ducks are lined up properly and everything is in its place.
Given the tremendous amount of logistic work that needed to be done before, during and after we launched, it’s easy to see why certain things may get knocked out of place. It’s just funny how online content works that way.
There’s a tremendous amount of chaos in the background. It’s not always set in stone. Things that you expect don’t always pan out like you expected them to. There’s always a surprise waiting around the corner. And this is precisely why we need your help.
While we have put in a tremendous amount of time, effort and energy to make sure that there is enough content in this website, we’re not exactly sure how this content is going to be rendered by the content management system this website is built on.
This is why we are calling out to you to let us know if there is any page that’s missing, or if you click on a link and you end up at a place where you’re not supposed to end up. Also, when you’re trying to load a page and it doesn’t load right, do reach out.
We need to hear from you because you can rest assured that if there is anything knocked loose or not formatted properly, we will get to the bottom of it. While we may not be able to resolve it overnight, you can surf this website with tremendous confidence that we will eventually get to the bottom of it.
Also, if you have access to any kind of Peruvian-American or Peruvian-Canadian resource, do share such materials because we want Boletin de New York to not only be the go-to source of Peruvian-Americans for everything related to their home country and their adopted home, but we want this to be a global resource as well. Believe it or not, we have heard from Peruvians from China and Southeast Asia.
We consider this website a collaborative project, so everybody has to lend their voice. Everybody has to pitch in because you may think that you’re just another face in the crowd, but make no mistake about it, every contribution you make ends up making this place a little bit richer, a little bit deeper, and more importantly, a little bit more helpful.
So please help us in our overarching goal of providing a tremendous online resource for all Peruvians regardless of where they are located on the map. Whether you’re looking for a job, you’re looking for professional service referrals, or you’re simply looking to communicate with a fellow Peruvian who has walked a mile or two in your shoes, rest assured you have come to the right place.
As you probably already know, we Peruvians come from all walks of life. We are often divided in terms of regional loyalties, regional cultures, as well as class background. But all those differences melt away in Boletin de New York because we all share a new common experience—a global immigration.
Do us all a favor and introduce yourself and become an active part of our community. Every little bit helps. There is no such thing as an insignificant member.
Also, if you are holding back regarding any kind of question you may have, please note that the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked. Don’t think that your question is so obvious that it’s common knowledge because, believe it or not, common sense is not all that common online.
So do yourself a big favor, just ask away and we are sure that there are many community members who would love to step up and give you the answer you’re looking for.
